HC Deb 01 May 1995 vol 259 c83W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what quantity of(a) chemical and (b) conventional weapons, originally dumped in the waters surrounding Britain, was identified as having leaked onto British shores by the Royal Navy (Plymouth Command) bomb and mine disposal unit in each of the last 30 years. [21938]

Mr. Soames

It is not possible to determine the precise origin of all ordnance washed up onto British shores. There is no evidence, however, to suggest that any of the ordnance recovered in United Kingdom waters and disposed of by the Royal Navy's Plymouth clearance diving unit had originally been dumped.
