§ Mr. NorrisThe United Kingdom climate change programme document—Cm 2427, published in January 1994—sets out the policy measures for meeting the United Kingdom commitment to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and other greenhouse gases across the whole economy up to 2000. Chapter 10 looks at some of the policy options beyond 2000. UK policies and measures for beyond 2000 will need to be decided in the context of international agreement on future commitments. The first conference of parties to the framework convention on climate change is currently taking place in Berlin.
