HL Deb 28 March 1995 vol 562 c85WA
Earl Russell

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What the £5 disregard on income support would be worth at present if it had been up-rated in line with the Rossi index since its introduction.

The Minister of State, Department of Social Security (Lord Mackay of Ardbrecknish):

The £5 disregard on earnings in income support would presently be worth £6.85, rising to £6.95 from April 1995, if it had been up-rated each year in line with the Rossi index since its introduction in 1988.
