To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what has been the expenditure on behalf of Government Departments and agencies by the Central Office of Information for each year since 1979, in 1994 prices; and whether he will provide a breakdown to show the division between(a) television advertising, (b) radio advertising, (c) newspaper advertising and (d) all other advertising and publicity. Expenditure by the Central Office of Information on behalf of Government Departments and agencies is set out in the following table. An analysis of expenditure in the form requested is not available for years prior to 1984–85.
