§ Mr. HoramThe Medical Research Council expects to spend £15.5 million on the genome initiative in 1995–96. Ethical, social and legal issues will be one aspect of this432W research, but it is not possible to provide separate figures. The Economic and Social Research Council sponsors social research on the human genome worth around £200,000.
