§ Mr. LangI have no plans at present to introduce an independent review commission to examine alleged miscarriage of justice along the lines of that being introduced for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
I have appointed a committee under the chairmanship of Sir Stewart Sutherland, principal of Edinburgh university, to consider options for change to the procedure in Scotland. I shall decide what action to take on these matters once I have the committees report.
