To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list those district and metropolitan councils that are monitoring particulate levels at ground level; and what results have been collected by his Department. [14699]

Results of particulate monitoring undertaken by local authorities in collaboration with the Department of the Environment are available in "UK Smoke and Sulphur Dioxide Monitoring Networks Summary Tables for April 1992 to March 1993". Data on automatic fine particulate monitoring—PM10—are available in "Air Pollution in the UK: 1992–93". LR1000(AP).

Both reports are available from the National Environmental Technology Centre, Culham, Oxfordshire.
