§ Mr. Austin Mitchell
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if the Government are opposed to an increase in the price of imported relative to home-produced goods; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. Nelson
The Government are committed to permanently low inflation. We are not opposed to an increase in the price of imported goods relative to domestic goods unless this signals rising inflation.
