§ Mr. ForthThe grants for education support and training allocations for the implementation of national curriculum assessment arrangements, which totalled £23.3 million in 1995–96, were distributed among local education authorities according to a formula, rather than requiring bids from LEAs.
However, 34 of the 109 LEAs did indicate the level of support they were seeking. This information is shown in the table
