§ Mr. SoamesAt present the Hong Kong garrison comprises 2,087 United Kingdom military personnel and 788 locally engaged military personnel supported by 101 UK based civilians and 631 locally engaged civilians. All locally engaged military personnel and civilians will be discharged from Crown service by 30 June 1997. All UK-based military personnel and civilians will return to the UK.
