§ Sir Paul BeresfordMy Department is to participate in a project led by the Central Statistical Office to develop a pilot system of satellite accounts linked to the input/output framework of national accounts. This work is broadly consistent with the proposals in the fifth environmental action programme but is not being carried out specifically in response to it. The programme is not itself a legislative instrument and therefore does not automatically create binding legal obligations on member states.
