§ Mr. BaldrySince the transitional Government of Ethiopia came to power in 1991, progress has been made in establishing a legitimate, representative and accountable system of government. National elections are scheduled for 7 May 1995. A programme of economic reforms supported by the international financial institutions is also in place. We discuss these areas and human rights issues on a regular basis with the transitional Government.
