This is a matter for the chief executive of the Defence Accounts Agency. I have asked him to reply.

Letter from Michael Dymond to Mr. Jim Cousins, dated 28 February 1995: You asked the Secretary of State for Defence if, pursuant to his answer of 20 December 1994 (Official Report column 1167), the expenditure or transactions giving rise to the debt collection visits was incurred in the countries visited or in the United Kingdom. This matter falls to me as Chief Executive of the Defence Accounts Agency for reply. The debt collection visits were in respect of debts incurred both in the countries visited and in the UK. It was necessary to visit the countries in order to facilitate efficient liaison with the individuals holding the authority to either pay or clear the debt situation.
