Letter form Lawrie Haynes to Mr. Keith Vaz, dated I March 1995:
I have been asked to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question about forecast daily traffic flows on the A46 Leicester Western Bypass, which is currently under construction. In line with current practice, we have calculated traffic flows based on high and low economic growth and other factors. For each 593W section of the bypass the forecast annual average daily traffic flow in each direction, at opening, ranges between:
- 17,500–19,000 vehicles: M1 Junction 21A to A50
- 19,000–20,500 vehicles: A50 to B5327
- 13,000–14,000 vehicles: B5327 to A6
- 11,000–12,000 vehicles: A6 to A46
