§ Mr. SackvilleWe supported a major conference on the management of venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism at the Royal College of Surgeons in June 1994. Following that conference, a joint working group of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists was set up to produce guidelines for the profession. The working party is commissioning further analyses of existing data in order to produce evidence-based guidelines and to identify gaps in research.
