To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will publish output figures for the latest possible three months for the industries listed in table 15.10 of the monthly digest of statistics, c50 (95) 109 first release together with the change since 1988 and 1990 in the volume of output, imports and exports. The information is not available for 1968. Comparable data for all four remaining years are available for only four industries, as given in the table. Data for other industries are not available on a comparable basis and could be produced only in a limited number of cases, at disproportionate cost.

The index of production for the level of detail required is not yet available. Table 1 gives the most detailed information available for Q1 1995.

Import and export figures by SIC(92) division are not available prior to 1990. Available figures at constant prices are given in table 2.
