To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will support moves to budgetise the European development fund. [28776]

Mr. Baldry

We are opposed to budgetisation of the European development fund. This would reduce Government's ability to decide how much we wish to contribute. It would also increase the pressure on the Edinburgh financial ceilings.
