To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many people were in residential and nursing homes in November 1994 whose care was being purchased by the local authority social services department following an assessment of their needs for care. [29345]

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the total number of people receiving care in(a) nursing homes and (b) residential homes; and how many are being financed by (i) the local health authority, (ii) benefits, (iii) community care payments by local authorities and (iv) their own resources.
