HC Deb 22 June 1995 vol 262 cc389-90W
Mr. Tyler

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what proportion of(a) sheep farms and (b) market gardens which may be expected to use organophosphorus products are visited by inspectors each year to check on protective measures when handling these products. [29734]

Mr. Oppenheim

[holding answer 20 June 1995]: It is impossible to predict in advance the sheep farms or market gardens that use organophosphorus products. However, in the course of routine visits to these premises, health and safety inspectors inquire about compliance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations, which apply to the use of organophosphorus products, including sheep dips.

Visits are, of course, supplemented by published guidance and by advice through other means.
