§ Mr. FreemanIn the absence of underground testing, we intend to develop further a range of experimental techniques and facilities for the stewardship of our nuclear weapons stockpile, including above ground experiments, lasers and computer simulation. This work will be undertaken in continuing co-operation with the United States. Discussions have also been held with French authorities on issues relating to nuclear weapons stewardship.
