HC Deb 22 June 1995 vol 262 cc347-8W
Ms Coffey

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many people were admitted under the Mental Health Act 1983 as a percentage of total admissions for the last five years for which figures are available, broken down into health authorities. [29905]

Mr. Bowis

Information on the number of patients is not available centrally as some patients may be admitted more than once. Information on the number of formal admissions under the Mental Health Act 1983 and other legislation as a percentage of total admissions in the psychiatric specialities by region of treatment is shown in the table. Comparable data are not available for the special health authorities.
