§ Miss WiddecombeMy right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State and I regularly discuss employment matters with our fellow Employment Ministers at the Social Affairs Council. We consistently urge them to make job creation the first priority and not to pursue new restrictions and regulations which can only destroy jobs. Our aim is to improve employment prospects in all areas of Britain, including Greater Manchester.
