§ Mr. Douglas HoggUnder United Nations Security Council resolution 997, the revised mandate of UNAMIR now includes assisting the Government of Rwanda in facilitating the voluntary and safe return of refugees and supporting its efforts to promote a climate of confidence and trust through the performance of monitoring tasks throughout the country. We hope that this revision will facilitate UNAMIR's efforts to promote national reconciliation in Rwanda.
