§ Mr. ForthMy right hon. Friend the responsibility for registration of independent schools; she works closely with the Secretary of State for Health who has responsibility for registration of other services for young children, including those with fewer than five full-time pupils of compulsory school age who by law are not independent schools. They keep under regular review the arrangements for ensuring appropriate standards of child care and education for young children in all settings.
