§ Sir Peter HordernThe National Audit Office is currently examining the sale by the Department of Trade and Industry of British Coal's mining activities. This examination will consider the steps taken by the Department in pursuit of its objectives for the sale, and the costs of the sale, including advisers' costs. When the examination has been completed, the National Audit Office will report to Parliament. I understand that it currently has no plans to make interim reports on any particular aspect of the sale.
