HC Deb 19 June 1995 vol 262 c25W
Harry Greenway

41. Mr. To ask the Lord President of the Council what proposals he has to seek a ban on all-night sittings of the House; and if he will make a statement. [27640]

Mr. Newton

One of the aims of the current experiment with revised sitting arrangements, which the House approved on 19 December 1994, is to avoid late sittings wherever possible. There have been no all-night sittings since the experiment began, and only one occasion when the House has sat after 1 am. The experiment is at present being reviewed by the Procedure Committee.
