To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many dwellings in each council district in Northern Ireland have their rent determined in accordance with regulations 10 and 11(1) of the Housing Benefit (General) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987. [28197]

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list for each council his estimate of the number of occupied dwellings which are subject to the Rent (Northern Ireland) Order 1978. [28198]

Mr. Moss

It is estimated that between 9,000 and 12,500 properties are subject to the Rent (Northern Ireland) Order 1978 of which 8,339 rents are registered by the Department of the Environment (Northern Ireland). Although figures for the actual number of such properties which are occupied are not available, the number of rents registered, by district council area, are:
