To ask the Secretary of State for Education, pursuant to her answer of 6 June,Official Report, column 9, which of the bodies listed in the reply to the hon. Member for the City of Durham (Mr. Steinberg) of 7 February, Official Report, column 145, supported the introduction of vouchers for nursery education. [28275]

Most of the responses to consultation were received before voucher funding for pre-school education became an issue for debate.

Nevertheless, written responses from the following organisations support a voucher scheme; Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools National Private Day Nurseries Association Playgroup Network The GM Initiative.
