§ Mr. NorrisThe Civil Aviation Authority is responsible for flight and duty time limitation schemes, including technical assessment of the joint aviation authorities' proposals. The Department has not responded in detail to the British Airline Pilots Association's specific objections as these are a matter for the authority. However, the authority has assured my noble Friend the Minister for Aviation that the JAA proposals, if introduced, would provide an equivalent level of protection against the onset of fatigue to the current United Kingdom requirements.
