§ Mr. Ian TaylorMost of the assistance in drawing up intellectual property legislation given to developing countries is provided through the World Intellectual Property Organisation and the United Kingdom makes substantial contributions to the work of this organisation. Officials from developing countries responsible for the introduction of new legislation often make study visits to the UK Patent Office to discuss issues with my officials. My officials have also taken part in missions to developing countries and have frequently corresponded with their opposite numbers for the same purpose.
