§ Mr. MacleanI understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that, at present, approximately 5,500 protective vests are available for use by officers in the Metropolitan police district. The Commissioner is considering various options relating to the issue of protective clothing to all police officers and expects to make proposals to us shortly.
