§ Mr. SoamesMy Department supports a wide range of measures including work leading to the successful indefinite extension of the nuclear non-proliferation140W treaty; playing a positive and constructive part in negotiations on a comprehensive test ban treaty; supporting international efforts for a convention banning production of fissile material for military explosive purposes; scrutinising export licence applications for nuclear-related goods; and contributing to the work of international organisations such as the Zangger committee and nuclear suppliers group.
