§ Mr. Malcolm BruceTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what would be the annual cost of abolishing NHS charges presently made for eye and dental checks.
§ Mr. Malone[pursuant to his reply, 6 March 1995, c. 49]: I regret that there was an error in my previous reply.
The annual cost at 1993–94 prices for dental examinations, assuming that the removal of the charge led to no increase in the number of dental examinations, should read approximately £60 million and not £70 million as previously quoted.
