Mr. Nicholas Brown

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many patients have been struck off the registers of(a) fundholding general practitioners and (b) non-fundholding general practitioners in the latest year for which figures are available. [26118]

Mr. Malone

Information held centrally on patients removed from general practitioner lists does not identify the fundholding status of the general practitioner.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many patients have been struck off the registers of general practitioners in each of the last 10 years for which figures are available. [26119]

Mr. Malone

The information requested is available centrally only for 1992–93. The number of patients removed from registers at the request of general practitioners in 1992–93 was 78,993.
