To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the level of expenditure on consultancy by(a) the Department of the Environment and (b) agencies for which the Department is responsible for (i) 1993–94, (ii) 1994–95 and (iii) projected for 1995–96. [25525]

Expenditure on consultancies by my Department and its agencies, excluding IT consultancies, is £10.394 million in 1993–94, £10.882 million in 1994–95, and is forecast to be £13.875 million in 1995–96.
