HC Deb 06 June 1995 vol 261 cc61-2W
Mr. Clelland

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what assessment he has made of the benefits to British industry for those British firms winning contracts to supply attack helicopters to the British Army. [26298]

Mr. Eggar

The assessment of the criteria for the British Army attack helicopter competition, of which proposals for United Kingdom industrial participation is one, is the responsibility of the Ministry of Defence, which is running the competition. However, my Department has received briefings from the UK prime contractors bidding for the contract, as well as from the Ministry of Defence. My Department is studying this information and is contributing to the decision-making process.
