To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement about the key targets for the financial year 1995–96 for the Royal Air Force Training Group defence agency. [36393]

Mr. Soames

The chief executive of the Royal Air Force Training Group defence agency has been set the following targets for financial year 1995–96.

  1. 1. By 31 March 1996 to take forward the recommendations of the Quality Management Workshop Report.
  2. 2. By 31 March 1996 to achieve the planned elements of Future Flying Training Implementation and Group Training Rationalisation, including the associated Defence Costs Study measures, in accordance with the relevant schedules.
  3. 3. By 31 March 1996 to deliver efficiency measures to achieve a 2.5 per cent. reduction in running costs.
  4. 4. By 31 March 1996 to achieve the planned elements of the Agency's contribution to the RAF manpower savings programme.
  5. 5. By 31 March 1996 to complete the planned work against the Agency's Competing for Quality programme.
  6. 6. By 31 March 1996 to develop and implement the Agency's fixed asset management strategy, procedures and reporting systems.
  7. 7. By 31 March 1996 to report on business process re-engineering and the development of associated financial and accounting systems required by the Department's move to Resource Accounting and Budgeting
