HC Deb 19 July 1995 vol 263 cc1421-2W
Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment on what grounds the royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea was chosen to prepare the accounts for 1995–96 following the wind-up of the London residuary body. [35860]

Sir Paul Beresford

The detailed arrangements for winding up the London residuary body, including the preparation of the final accounts, are matters to be decided when the order winding-up the London residuary' body is made.

Mr. Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to make an order winding up the London residuary body. [35859]

Sir Paul Beresford

My right hon. Friend intends to make such an order as soon as practicable, having regard to the outstanding responsibilities of the residuary body.

Mr. Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many hours a week each London residuary body board member worked in 1994–95 on London residuary body business; what emoluments each received; and what payments will be made to the board members when the London residuary board is finally wound-up. [35861]

Sir Paul Beresford

The board members of the London residuary body received the following emoluments in 1994–95:

  • Sir Godfrey Taylor (Chairman): £15,430 for 1 day per week
  • M. C. Roberts Esq.: £9,320 for 1 day per week
  • W. J. Mackenzie Esq.: £9,320 for 1 day per week
  • J. Wolkind Esq.: £9,320 for 1 day per week

In practice, board members frequently commit more time and energy to their duties than required by their contracts.

There will be no extra payments to the board members of the LRB upon its wind-up.
