HC Deb 19 July 1995 vol 263 c1345W
Mr. Worthington

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what financial contribution the European Union made to Government-funded work or training schemes in Northern Ireland in 1994–95; to which schemes the European Union contributed; and what percentage of the publicly-funded costs the European Union's contribution constituted. [34026]

Mr. Ancram

I have been asked to reply.

Responsibility for the subject in question has been delegated to the Training and Employment Agency under its chief executive, Mr. J. S. Crozier. I have asked him to arrange for a reply to be given.

Letter from J. S. Crozier to Mr. Tony Worthington, dated 18 July 1995: The Secretary of State for Education and Employment has asked me, as Chief Executive of the Training and Employment Agency, to reply to your question. The financial contribution made by the European Union to Government-funded training places in Northern Ireland is affected by the allocation made to non-government schemes. Decisions on the latter have yet to be finalised. The final amounts that will be received therefore in respect of government and non-government schemes is not yet known. When the information you seek is available, I will send it to you.
