§ Mr. Bowis"Trends in Death Associated with Abuse of Volatile Substances—Report No 8" has now been published by St. George's hospital medical school. Copies will be placed in the Library. It gives solvent misuse mortality data for 1993 and shows an encouraging further reduction in deaths, a fall of 13 per cent. from 84 deaths in 1992 to 73 deaths in 1993. This follows the fall of 31 per cent. from 1991 to 1992 and is a further encouraging sign that the Government's initiative in this area is bearing fruit.
