To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what are the present legislative proposals of his Department that will require consideration by the House during the next year. [34370]

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what legislation he plans to introduce; and if he will make a statement. [35311]

Sir Patrick Mayhew

The Government's plans for legislation will be announced in the Queen's Speech at the start of the 1995–96 Session.

In addition I shall be writing to the Northern Ireland party leaders and to the Opposition spokesmen on Northern Ireland at the start of the Session to outline our proposals for Orders and Orders-in-Council.
