§ Mr. ForthThe new statutory requirements for sex education, under the Education Act 1993, including the statutory parental right to withdraw their children, came into force on 1 September 1994. The Office for Standards in Education, as part of its regular programmes of inspections, will be monitoring schools' implementation of the full range of new arrangements.
