To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people from Kenya have sought refugee status in each of the past five years and in each month of this year. [33039]

Information on asylum applications from Kenyan nationals for the years 1990 to 1994 is published in table 2.1 of the Home Office Statistical Bulletin "Asylum Statistics United Kingdom 1994", issue 15/95. A copy of this publication is available in the Library.

Information on applications during January to May 1995 is given in the table.
