Estimates of average household income after direct and indirect taxation for the richest and poorest 20 per cent. of households in the United Kingdom as a whole, have been published each year since 1957 in an article on "The Effects of Taxes and Benefits on Household Incomes" in "Economic Trends". The most recent estimates for 1993 are available in the December edition of 'Economic Trends' No. 494 (HMSO ISBN 011 620643 8).
In addition, estimates of patterns of personal disposable income in the United Kingdom can be found in "Households Below Average Income 1979–1992–93"— HMSO ISBN 011 762 3180—published in June this year.
