§ Mr. David DavisThe proposals set out by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in the House on 1 March have been welcomed by WEU and NATO member Governments as a demonstration of our readiness to play an active and constructive role in this area. WEU Ministers, meeting in Lisbon on 15 May, welcomed our ideas, together with those put forward by other nations, as a significant contribution to the forthcoming debate at the intergovernmental conference.
