As you know, the Minister for Railways and Roads, Mr. John Watts, has asked me to reply to your Parliamentary Question asking the Secretary of States for Transport if he will make a statement on the estimated cost of A1-M1 link road and the level of bids received.The estimated cost of the scheme is £190m at 1992 prices excluding VAT and land. Details of the bids are commercially confidential.
