To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what proposals he has for banning trichloroethylene. [31654]

There are no current plans to prohibit the manufacture or use of trichloroethylene.

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many fatal cases there have been in each of the last 10 years from the use or inhalation of trichloroethylene. [31655]

The Health and Safety Executive records the number of fatalities in workplaces in which trichloroethylene is implicated. The information on its database is shown in the table:
