HC Deb 04 July 1995 vol 263 c124W
Mr. Jim Cunningham

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with the United States Government on arrangements for the possible withdrawal of UN forces from the former Yugoslavia. [32035]

Mr. Douglas Hogg

We have had regular discussions both bilaterally and in NATO with the United States Government on this subject. We and Washington agree that UNPROFOR should remain in Bosnia as long as it can continue to perform a useful task at an acceptable level of risk, but that it is sensible to have contingency plans in place for a possible withdrawal.
