HL Deb 03 July 1995 vol 565 c68WA
Lord Glenarthur

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What has been the outcome of the review conducted into the operation of the Civil Defence (General Local Authority Functions) Regulations 1993 introduced on 1st August 1994.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Baroness Blatch)

Following consultation with local authorities, we decided not to make any changes to the regulations (which were introduced on 1 August 1993 not 1994) for the time being. A further review will be carried out in about two years' time after local government reorganisation.

Chief executives of local authorities were advised of the decision on 17 March 1995.
