HC Deb 31 January 1995 vol 253 c627W
Mr. Gordon Prentice

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what restrictions she proposes on the sale to members of the public of herbal remedies and other products currently available without restriction in health shops.

Mr. Sackville

The existing Medicines Act 1968 provisions governing the sale and supply of herbal remedies will continue to apply.

Herbal products not covered by medicines controls may fall under the provisions of food safety legislation; there are no plans to change this position.
